Monday Mumblings: Modern Technology

T-Rex is asleep on the floor, he pulled a pillow off my bed and made himself a little napping spot. I think he is exhausted. And so am I for that matter, but unlike him I can't seem to turn my mind off to the world around me.

Two is curled up next to me watching Dora on tv via our DVD player. I am laying in my bed, not feeling well, haven't felt well for a few days. Who knows sometimes I feel like I haven't felt well FOREVER, but really I didn't or don't remember feeling sick this summer, other than the day after the fourth where I slept all Sunday but that was exhaustion. Anyway Eric so kindly commented that I am a hypocondriact....so nice to have loving and kind support from your spouse. I am not a hypocondriact (so I can't spell that word)....I don't know what is making me sick, could be the tumor on my uterus, could be the ulcer, but my abdomen is not my friend lately.

And you know modern technology should be able to help me figure it out, and yes they located the above mentioned things in my abdomen, but there they sit...and lately it doesn't feel like they are sitting, its more like they are doing somersaults and flips, and its not a cute little baby I will get to hold.

Maybe I should find a doctor around here, but since we have become medicaid patients people are not willing to see us, nor are they taking new patients. And our government wants to take over health care! It scares me. Our wonderful health care will go to pot. However on the other side, being one with out private insurance at the time, I am very appreciative of the program, but now understand why our ERs are full, because no private doctor will see us. Can't they come up with a system of paying small businesses, or employers of hourly employees, money towards private insurance? Giving all employed people access to insurance but not government run?

Anyway so not what I was planning to blog on. But guess its on my mind!

I am just grateful for so many wonderful modern technologies.....

My computer, I love to type and write and with this I can do so with out white out to correct all my miss spellings!

The Internet, allowing me access to the world around me. I mean I recently was able to meet someone from Canada, that with out blogging and Internet I would have never met and gotten to know! It is just amazing, and Facebook?? I love that place, and being able to catch up with people that I haven't even seen since fifth grade, it truly is amazing.

Washing machines....with kids throwing up in the night, wetting their beds and throwing up again, it is so nice to be able to throw those stinky things into the machine and let it do the work. Now to come up with an automatic folding machine and I would be set.

Texting, ok maybe I am grateful for to many things that allow me to be social with out being social. I love to text. So much easier than calling on the phone, I can send a message while using the bathroom, not that I would, or in the middle of screaming kids, and no one knows...well I guess now you do. I can mass invite people to do something with out talking to five different people, saving time for me to um....I don't know fold laundry, or surf facebook and see what y'all are doing.

I love modern technology. I love Dvds so my kids can, when they want and that is not very often as those who watch them know, watch a favorite show.

I love living in the time we live in. Did I mention I love having a car? That is the best, because we can literally go any where we want, well not really with gas prices now, but you can live "far" away and still be close enough to get there shortly. Very cool.

Ok off to nap!

Monday Mumblings

Its been awhile since I did a Monday Mumbling! But I have just a bunch of things to mumble about....which mind you is different than murmuring and complaining, though after you read today you may think I should switch it to Monday Murmurings...

The bus...

oh my goodness I love that my kids take a bus to school. It is the coolest thing ever. I love not having to pile kids in the car or walk the mile...though I think my butt is missing those morning walks. But this morning, with the blistering winds and freezing air, I walked into the house with brain freeze and wondered why our bus stops aren't the same and just down the street. So I called and complained, which you should be kind of proud of me, I never really do that, but man I just can't stand my kids having to walk to far in the snow, and I don't want to mess up the two kids that have the bus stop the end of their driveway but man, why can't there be two stops??

Friday night, some girls and I went to eat at this little Japanese restaurant, pretty tasty, its called the hibachi grill and then we headed over to see Bridal Wars, funny, cute and pretty predictable, but light hearted, made me laugh and just a time I needed for me. But the best part of the night was going to Cookie Cutters I think that is what it was called and enjoying ice cream sandwiches...YUMMY, see you pick a cookie then you pick your ice cream and they make you a sandwich...yum yum yum, and we just sat around and talked for awhile.

Saturday we got together with Eric's family to celebrate Jason's birthday as well as mine, but mostly Jason seeing I have two more weeks until mine, and me being the party person I am I think I am going to make sure we get together again before then. It was a lot of fun. We had a great time sitting around talking as the cousins all played together.

Little T-Rex fell off the bed or something but hurt his little foot. He didn't seem to mind us touching it so we assumed it wasn't broken. He is still limping pretty good this morning and well as soon as the roads de ICE I think I am going to take him in to have it xrayed, I mean we still have insurance for a few more days, might as well take advantage of it, and make sure its not broken. Poor little guy.

Sunday we went to church and then headed to my sister's house for dinner. Again, yummy food, fun conversation and cousin fun times. Though I was feeling tired and exhausted.

See yesterday we had a lesson on finding joy in our lives, based on a talk given by President Monson....And to be totally honest, I am just having a really hard time finding joy right now.
I know I need to. But it is hard, when we have no income, no home of our own, kids that go to bed crying and screaming and wake up crying and screaming, where is the fun in that?? Yeah if you haven't guessed it fun is the word for the day.

I just am in a slump of all slumps and need to find the light at the other side. I just can't seem to see past my mountain of problems. I think I need to do some service. I think I need to exercise.
But the only way to get out of a slump is to climb up the mountain, and we all know how fun that is. I am just out of shape and not sure I can make it up the hill. ....But we will. Too many things to get past: my health, my weight, my in ability to discipline, my un ruley children, no job, no insurance, no wages, no home (though I AM SOOOOOO GRATEFUL we have wonderful family to take us in...we aren't an easy group to manage or host)

I just want to be able to really just enjoy being with my family and just laugh with my kids. It seems we aren't laughing as much or that I am as fun to be around anymore. Oh well this too shall pass right???

Monday's Mumblings: Visitors

Have you been wondering if I was swept out to sea in a heavy undercurrent, left for fish food? Well luckily I wasn't, though Two and Eric came pretty darn close to becoming shark bait the other day. Two was just lazily floating in an inner tube inside the tide pools, Eric beside her, when the tide just flushed them out. I don't think my dad had run that fast since his college days, though the lava rock wasn't as easy to run on as a track. All are safe and well.

My parents were here all last week and we had a blast with them. We barely had a moment to sit and relax, and when we did we all fell asleep.

Some of the highlights: (pictures to come later, as I stole my dad's camera and shot pictures all week on it, and forgot to download them to my computer)

  • After arriving on Sunday afternoon, we took them for a walk through our neighborhood, had dinner, and maybe did something else, but I don't remember...only a week and my memory is already gone.
  • Monday morning sent the kids off to school, while my parents, T-Rex, Two and I hiked up to the Makapu'u Lighthouse. Then we had some yummy lunch at Teddy's Bigger Burgers and made a quick trip to Price Busters to find my dad a sun hat...I know you are jealous of the excitement. Then I believe we went swimming in our pool, had dinner and just hung out.
  • Tuesday gosh my memory is so bad....oh yeah the little kids and I took my parents to the zoo, after which we headed home, and when the older kids got home from school we went out to Lanikai beach for a little swim and sand digging.
  • Wednesday my mom and I went to Walmart and did some clothes shopping for Bee and then when the kids came home from school, they got out early, we finished homework. Then took Bee to Hula and watched G-Man play and win his basketball game. We then headed to the Kahala hotel and watched the dolphins and sea turtles. Everyone was starving on the way home so we grabbed Burger King, and my mom and I rushed to my ceramics class.
  • Thursday we took the kids out of school and Eric took the day off. We packed a picnic lunch and headed to Makapu'u beach and played in the tide pools. We had the above mention scare, which made G-Man head to the shore to dig a hole to bury his dad. After the beach we headed to the Pali look out which was covered in tourists with huge cameras, none of which spoke English, the people not the cameras. I only mention this because every time my dad tried to take a picture one of them would jump in front of him and get in his way. After that we headed towards down town and got the Best, I mean the best shave ice!! So yummy! Just a little hole in the wall market but it was totally the best shave ice we have had....if only I could remember the name of it. My dad got a picture of the shop so later I can let you know. We headed back home and did some swimming...no wait we didn't we got a babysitter and the adults went out to eat at Roy's. We watched the sunset and enjoyed an outdoor patio dinner. It was tasty. Loved the chocolate souffle.
  • Friday we woke up and I think my mom and I went to the store, and kids went swimming and then we went to the PCC. We had a great time there, especially on the haunted lagoon ride. It was pretty scary. Bee got off the boat, and started to cry and when she saw her friend from school she pleaded with her not to get on "because it was scary and they took a lady off and ate her." They didn't really eat her but it was a little frightening. Two kept her head in Eric's lap the whole time, and fell asleep. G-man moved from the side of the boat where guys kept jumping out of the water and grabbing his legs, to the center so his dad could be on the outside. The night show was amazing as usual, all the children slept through it though.
  • Saturday we thought the kids might sleep in but they didn't. We all woke up tired. But ready to do something, yet so ready to just lay around. At one point, my eye really hurt, I thought something flew into it, but come to find out a blood vessel popped and my eye looks really yucky to say the least. We went to the doctor and he said everything looked just fine on the inside, so that's good. We (my mom, bee and i) headed to Costco for a few things. Then when we got home, we headed to the bishop's museum. Great museum. After that Eric showed us the capital and then palace. Then we went to a scary but yummy local bbq place.
  • Sunday was the kids program at church. They did awesome, and some of our neighbor friends came to watch. Sunday was a lazy day, though the kids got in a little swim, I got in a little nap and the older two even learned to fish for a little bit from their Papa. Then we said good bye.

We had a blast, and it was a lot of fun having visitors in town to show them around. Though we never made it to the north shore, or the dole plantation to get some dole whip....oh well Thanks Mom and Dad for coming out and letting us show you around. We had a great time. Looking forward to my sister visiting us. Wish more family could come out and visit us. Wish we weren't leaving in a few weeks!

Monday Mumblings: Cursed be my thoughts

Cursed Thought Number 1:

--So glad T-rex doesn't open doors...yeah you all heard about that one the other day, the next day he figured that one out....man that little boy is inquisitive! Gotta love him

Cursed Thought Number 2:

--While watching LMN (lifetime movie network--yes it is my little guilty pleasure every once in a while) a lady was calling a friend on a pay phone...A PAY PHONE what the heck?? Yeah they used those back in the late eighties early nineties before cell phones..but anyway she was dialing her sister on the phone...and I thought wow she knows her sister's phone number, I don't I just press: HER NAME and it calls her....sure would hate to lose my cell phone because I'd lose everyone's number.....

Guess what happened..T-rex threw it in the toilet, and now is totally dead. Been dead for three days, don't think it is coming back to life. So if you thought I knew your number cuz I called you "all the time" well I don't and don't have it anymore..so maybe you could send it my way?

Cursed Thought #3

Life is going pretty good.

UGGGHHH we have two months left here in Hawaii and we have no idea what we will be doing, where we will be living and I think it is starting to freak me out!

Monday Mumblings: A little bit of EVERYTHING

T-Rex:

OH MY GOODNESS, this little boy could be the poster child for Energizer batteries, he keeps going and going and going. IN the last 24 hours, he has:
  • put almost a whole roll of TP in the toilet
  • threw clothes in the toilet
  • climbed in the toilet ( you think the door would have been locked by now.)
  • climbed into the shower with clothes on and completed soaked himself, with the help of a 3 year old sister who knows how to turn the water on.
  • dumped crayons on the floor, not once, nor twice but 5 times...how does he keep getting them?
  • climbed on the kitchen table and knocked water on the floor (left water glasses on the table, at least we use plastic.)
  • spilt milk on the laptop
  • dumped a bottle of water on the carpet
  • dug food out of the trash (i promise i feed him)
  • pulled a poopy diaper out of the trash can and opened it and spread it all over his feet and hands...probably tried tasting it....
  • threw an orange off the balcony
  • and he slept in until 8 this morning...i guess the last day pooped him out.

Blogs:
I recently sat down and helped a friend start a blog. She wrote several posts, and then got a little frustrated that she couldn't write every day and felt like no one was reading it and thus deleted it.

It is interesting to me, this whole bloggerhood thing because it truly is its own community. The blog world kind of reminds me of high school. It is filled with all kinds of clicks.
  • There are the "cool" kids, who for some reason draw thousands of readers and comments, they aren't necessarily any better at writing than others, but some how their coolness has typed through to the blog world.
  • Then there are your geeks, that blog about tech stuff or other non personal information.
  • You have your introverts, that write about their deepest darkest secrets, and keep to themselves.
  • Then there are the class clowns, you just read and laugh at all the things they are poking fun of in their lives.
  • There are those on the yearbook commitee, who like to post pictures and capture their events.
  • There are the jocks who post about their running and other exercise regimens.
  • You have the cheerleaders, who seem to be able to do it all and keep on smiling. Their posts seem so perfect and happy.
  • You got the goth groups, all dark and dreary, and wow is me.
  • You have the International group, sharing their learning of different cultures and travels.

Anyway I am sure there are ton more types of bloggers, and some sort of mix. But my point is, what ever reason you write, or when you are able to write, it should be for you. It should not matter what others think, or if they comment (though it does make you feel good to get comments) but for your personal records.

I am just amazed at the world blogging has opened to me. I have been able to meet people I would have never met before. I have been able to learn things about people I don't think I would have ever learned on a personal level.

My words of wisdom here? Blog when you can. Blog what you want. And don't get caught up in comparing yourself to other bloggers. Do what you can, be you.

LIFE:

I think I fell off my life raft and am holding on to my life jacket floating in the ocean riding up and down with the waves, unsure of when my boat is going to come back and pick me up and take me to my destination. Heck I don't even know where that destination is and what my boat looks like.

We are here, for a few more months. And then what? We don't know. It is crazy. We are at a point where we could end up anywhere in the world. I have thought about taking out a world map and just throwing a dart and going there. There are few things keeping us from doing that, like MONEY and well thats about it.

We possibly could end up back in Austin, but Eric feels unsure about what is going to happen with his company and his job there. The kids want to stay here, and I actually wouldn't mind living here, it is so beautiful and well yeah it is just beautiful and everything is so close, but it is SO EXPENSIVE. With the fact that Eric shows up after we are all asleep and leaves usually before we wake up, he hasn't had much time to even look for other work opportunities.

So anyone have any suggestions? Know of any great places to raise a family? Cost of living low? Job market fairly stable?

I am all over the place here.....

Ok off to take care of the kids.....

Monday Mumblings: My Morning Walk

This morning as I was walking with my kids I saw :

and

and

and

and

and some more really cool fish. It isn't every day that you can go walking and feel like you are snorkeling. The tide was really low this morning, and almost back up when I returned to show my friend the amazing fish I had seen.

I stopped ever few feet or so and had Two look and be amazed with me, she wasn't, not totally. But down at the bottom of the inlet- we live on a peninsula, and have a walking path around the neighborhood- there were a ton of fish just swimming around, I guess having their breakfast. There were so many. It truly was amazing. I walk this way almost every morning and have never seen so many fish. I didn't realize we had a little reef under us.

As I walked home to grab my camera (too bad the tide was back up and I couldn't find my memory card either to take pictures) I realized how fortunate I am to be able to go walking and enjoy my beautiful surroundings. Sure beats looking at the walls on a treadmill, or watching cars go by--that might be something cool if I was into cars but I am not.

Anyway not that I am trying to make you jealous of my living situation...ok maybe a little :) but I just feel so lucky to be where I am right now.

I am happy and glad to be alive and healthy!

side note: got strep again-was hospitalized for 8 days last year for septic strep-, but saw a doctor fast enough only waited two weeks and not twelve- for it to not totally go septic, still waiting on some blood tests, but am amazed at what a little antibiotics can do to make me feel good again, and some fresh air and fish!

Monday Mumblings: Back to School

It truly can't be that time of year! I haven't even seen any back to school commercials yet, you know the ones that either excite you or that send you hiding in the closet with knots in your tummy filled with fear. I am the later. I have never liked going to school. When I went to kindergarten I screamed and cried. First grade wasn't much different other than my mom couldn't take me and made my dad drop me off.

Anyway here in the great state of Hawaii, they have what they call year round school. They do get about two months off for summer. They start on Wednesday.

The kids have their backpacks packed and new clothes for school. They are excited. I should be excited, I mean two less kids to worry about during the day. But I am not. I am racked with fear and sadness and a bunch of unexplained feelings.

As much as I enjoy sending my kids off to school, I am really sad to see them go. I feel like we haven't had enough time together. I mean Bee is starting kindergarten and from now on I will no longer have her home with me full time. She is now a part of the great public school system, only to be returned to me at nights and weekends and vacations. Its a joint custody kind of thing and I want full custody.

But I really can't home school, even with my education background. I am just not organized enough. Truly my grandiose plans of summer reading and learning flew out the window and were replaced by swimming and playing. I so thought that every week we would have a fun trip to the Library, well our first was our last.

Anyway, it will be okay and hopefully my kids total lack of summer mental stimulation won't put them too far behind. And maybe just maybe I will enjoy the little tiny bit of peace enough that I will feel some peace about this joint custody thing.

Monday Mumblings: boxes boxes and more boxes

Life has been crazy around here! To say the least. We sold our house, well in the middle of negotiating I flew to Utah for my Grandmother's funeral. Got the house under contract. Yeah for us. Had the inspection and the appraisal. All passed. Opt out period was Friday night, like yeah three days ago. And have to be out this Friday. Eric well lets just say "he is leaving on a jet plane" and may not be back in time to sign the closing papers on Friday. Me I am home with four kids left to much packing. Though to my husband's wonderful credit, he high tailed it this weekend and much of everything is packed, but you know the last of the last stuff is always more than what you think. I am trying to be calm. I am trying to not fear that for some reason the family will back out last minute. I am trying to be calm with the fact that we don't really know where we will be come Friday. Yes we will be staying with my in laws but Eric's company is still sort of in a negotiating thing with the state of Hawaii. So though our house is sold, which is a huge major relief and will be a bigger one on Friday when all is signed, there is still a lot of uncertainty. We are still a little worrisome about how the heck we are going to come up with the cash we need for closing since all our equity is going towards paying their closing costs and the realtors fees and other misc. costs...leaving us in the end paying to sell our house, but it is sold.

Anyway before Eric leaves in a few minutes, off goes the computer because I have no idea how to pack it! Yeah I know I probably should seeing I use it all the time, but I don't. So if you don't hear from me in a while, its because my computer is crying from storage and I am still homeless.

Maybe the next time you hear from me will be from the sandy beaches in Hawaii!!

Monday Mumblings: More like Monday's Moanings!

I fear in life posting things that scare me or frighten me or listing biggest fears, I guess those are all one in the same. But don't you ever feel like if you say something like "I'm so afraid of spiders." Then all of a sudden the big ears of the universe open up, to hear you say it and then spit fire as many spiders at you as it possibly can? And only because you said you were afraid.

Maybe that doesn't happen to you.

But it seems to happen to me.

Its as if I call attention to the very thing that I don't want to happen and the Universe all of a sudden pays attention to me, takes in what I said, chews it up and spits it at me!

Ok you probably need a better example, so for instance I wrote down how great the house looked how I was excited about two offers coming in the first weekend. Well I shouldn't have written about it because they didn't work out. If I had waited and not opened my big mouth, because I like to do that a lot too, our house would be sold and it would be one less thing to worry about. Not that I am saying I am all powerful or something I just feel like I open my mouth to say something and the Universe turns its big nasty head my way and starts laughing at me.

Oh so negative today aren't I.

So anyway I thought I'd turn the tables and attract the things I want by posting the things I don't...Does that makes sense? not sure any of this mumbling makes much sense. And that fact that you have read this far is amazing itself. I bet I just messed the chances of anyone reading this far by even posting that, see what I mean? No you wouldn't because you aren't reading this......

Ok so here are the things I SO WANT TO HAPPEN:

  1. I don't want anyone to come this week and see our house, or put in an offer.
  2. I want to spend another three nights up all night with sick crying kids because I love it!!
  3. I want to gain a few more pounds.
  4. I so want this deal for Hawaii to fall through and be unemployed again.
  5. I want my kids to totally hate me and think I am the meanest mom in the whole world and tell me it often.
  6. I want to stay in debt forever because I love not having money to spend on things. I want people to keep telling me how they have no money just like me.
  7. I want my heart to get worse because I love not being able to run anymore because my circulation doesn't get to my extremities, heck its fun to just sit and lose feeling.
  8. I want my kids to continue to ignore me every time I ask them to do something.
  9. I want to go get another crown on my other tooth because the first one was so much fun and I didn't want to spend the extra $600+ on gas this month.
  10. I would love to see a Grocery store not come closer to our house than 10 miles. Its just so exciting to take a road trip to go to the store.

So now the universe has heard my desires go ahead and spite me please!!!

Monday Mumblings:The Day I decide not to care

Our home has been on the market for ummm about 40 days I think, average selling time is 60 something days so we are still good but man that is a long time to live on pins and needles. Every morning I wake up, draw my curtains, make the beds, turn some side lights on, wipe down counters, vacuum a couple of times, turn on candle burners, you know set the stage so that just in case some one decides to call and come over to see the house, I am ready at a minutes notice.

Well it has been two weeks since we have had someone come see our house, and this weekend Eric volunteered to help a friend with putting in a fence and I had the opportunity to be home and clean but I decided that Lifetime Movie Network had missed me recently. So needless to say I didn't get any cleaning done, I did straighten up but you know...

So fast forward to today. I woke up this morning, made my bed, didn't open my curtains, nor turn on the lights. I wiped off the counters in the kitchen but not bathrooms, and did put breakfast dishes away but that was about it. I went to get a rental car. Then I had the brilliant idea since no one has been to the house in forever and most likely wouldn't be coming by I'd start doing oodles of laundry, pull the buckets o' crap out of the garage that had been catching things from each car cleaning. After I made the kids some nachos for lunch, leaving shreds of cheese on the counter, their cups on the floor, and such, i took the huge buckets and dumped them on the floor, next to the pile of clothes that needs to be washed. I ran up stairs to do something, probably check email, and got a call from an agent...."Hi this is so and so from Remax and I have a couple that I have been showing homes to in your neighborhood and they just pulled a flier to your house and were wondering if I could show it to them."

"oh so you are out side the door?"

"yes. you don't have to leave."

"um sure I'd be happy to show it to them though I am in a middle of a mess!"

They came in and I encouraged them to go upstairs so that I could at least shovel everything back into the buckets and throw it in the garage. Though I should have noticed more things up stairs, like the lipstick finger prints no more like hand prints all over my bedroom window, or the stench of dirty clothes in our closet, or the piles of clothes ooozing out of the kids closets, or the trash cans that need to be empty....or the trail of books and dolls. But no I was too worried about the dirty counters, the pile of clothes, the m & m spill. Oh well it was in sort of straightened order, and there is nothing I can do about it now seeing they have come and gone.

Maybe they didn't notice. Though the agent came down stairs and said to me "He said, referring to the client 'shhh don't wake the baby in the closet.' I thought he was kidding and I looked around the corner and sure enough there is a sleeping baby." Yeah thats where we like to keep them. So some things I didn't hide so well. But maybe the smell of cheese and eggs from the morning, were over shadowed by the smell of the oatmeal cookies I baked and ate in the last little while. I did lower the AC so they mentioned how cool it was inside.

So after they left I ran around the house cleaning up some of the major messes, and then wondered why the heck am I bothering? I mean who is going to show up now?? I guess you never know and the minute you put your guard down or give up so to speak it happens right? Maybe my prayers were heard this morning of my pleadings for a showing today! I don't know but now I got to go fix my messes I created....and again get back on the band wagon of making the house perfect for those once a week chances of someone stopping by.

Monday Mumblings: Week of the Twos

Rainy Days and Monday's always get me down....Don't know why but that song popped into my head and well as much as I like that song, I really don't feel that way, I actually really like a good rainy day, love staying inside, reading books doing crafts, and having a good excuse to wear my pjs all day. Though Mondays on the other hand seem to bring me grief and I am always just tired on Monday....But I have a few random mumblings to share this warm overcast day:
  • Our home has been on the market for a few weeks now, lost count actually. We had two offers that first weekend, one of which was a verbal offer that we never saw a paper offer for and the other was too low for us to take at this time, considering the fact we would have had to pay to sell our house.
  • We had two open houses this weekend, each of which a few people showed up to see. One wanted to get in touch with their mortgage broker, the other loved the house but they weren't ready to purchase anything at this time, and the rest we believe were nosey neighbors.
  • Though while we were at a friend's son's baptism we had another family come look at the house. I think they had little girls because the girl's dolls were moved around a little. But anyway I didn't know they had come and the agent left a message asking if she could set up an appointment for that evening. I called her back and she said they loved the home and were going to talk some numbers and get with our agent. So who knows but we will see.
  • This morning I actually ran a 9 minute mile! Plus I kept going for 1/2 mile and then walked the other 1/2 home. I am not sore yet, but I think this going while Eric is getting ready for work is going to work for me. I enjoyed being by myself though I think I was able to go so much faster because I didn't have to push a stroller and I was a little afraid to be by myself...
  • Have I ever told you that I have the most wonderful husband in the whole world? Eric is really wonderful he is thoughtful and caring and considerate and helpful!
  • I am sad I missed most of conference this weekend, with a trip to the ER, DVR not working, and kids! I am glad they come out with written talks.
  • I loved Elder Ballard's (?) talk on mothers. Though he mentioned avoiding substances...or something along those lines, can't think of his exact words, but he encouraged us to avoid substances to help us "survive" the days, and it made me think would that be my diet pepsi's with Limes??? Because I need them to survive my days....
  • I just figured out how to use these little tabby things and I think they are so cool!
  • Two ladies with pink strollers just walked by! I guess me being practical and one that has multiple kids, I wouldn't buy a pink stroller (even though they are darling) I just wouldn't be able to use it for my boy. That is kind of whats the word I am looking for, anyway messed up because all my girls have had to ride in navy blue strollers...so why couldn't I use a pink stroller for my boys??? They do have brown with their pinks....anyway, sorry random mumbling...
  • I got a crying baby so I got to go!
  • one last thing, I have already consumed half of my points for the day! I am jumping back hard core with WW, well obviously not hard core, because I have already eaten half my points but at least I know I ate half my points and I can monitor what I eat the rest of the day. I mean if I am running now...( i know not much yet) but if I am doing that I might as well let my eating work with it too!

Monday Mumblings

As part of a prompt writing group, we get a little prompt and are to free write for 10 minutes. This morning's prompt was on pushing you can read what I wrote here: Monday's Prompt: Pushing. Anyway it got me thinking even more about a bunch of random things and well I decided I would start what I call Monday Mumblings...

Many times people respond to me with "what" because I mumble and it is usually things I just don't really want them to hear but things that pop out of my head and out my mouth faster than I can really think, though I must think because I mumble rather than say it clearly anyway so on to my
Monday Mumblings:

1- I don't like having my house listed and on the market....I love having my house clean but at the same time it turns me into the wicked witch of the East and I just get so frustrated when one little thing is out of place. And it isn't like the house is showing every day but just the threat and the possibility that at a 15 minute notice an agent can show up. And heaven's knows I don't want to be running around cleaning it then.

2- I am tired of kids wetting beds...I just don't want to wash sheets, because that would mean I have to fold the clothes in the drier and then they'd be on the coffee table and I don't feel like putting away clothes but can't have them out down stairs because of number one.

3. As much as I love to eat, I am so sick of food and having to eat and feeding kids. and then cleaning up the kitchen and well back to number 1.

4. I love that T-rex is crawling and social with his siblings but I wish some days he would just stay in one spot. He really likes to put things in his mouth and I can't count the number of times he has put something in mouth. If you'd like to see a day in the life of T-rex's mouth check out this blog entry click HERE.
Last night he choked on some candy wrapper. And then he wanted to sleep. He slept all night and when I woke up I ran into his "man cave" and had to touch him to make sure he was still alive. He was!

5. I was so happy with an achievement of mine. I have been walking with the kids, but have the biggest desire to be a runner click here number 4- anyway this last week, while walking the kids, two times I decided to jog a little for about a straight 1/2 mile. I was really proud of myself. I mentioned it to a friend who I'd thought would be happy for me, because it has been something I have been really trying to do, but with two kids in a stroller and two walking besides me, doesn't leave much room for me to get much jogging in. So both times I did the oldest two were running besides me...anyway so I mentioned this to a friend, and she was like "oh that was what all of five minutes..." well yeah I know not much but it is better than the none that I was doing. I am proud of myself and will try to do more jogging with my walking this week, maybe I'll make the kids take their bikes. Better would be to find a time with out kids, but I am not fond of waking up early and going in the dark by myself, but if anyone would like to join me I'd be game.

6. I really really want our house to sell. And I really really would love to see our dear friends' houses as well as my in-laws to sell. Eric and I just pray it happens soon for all of us. We thought of a great April Fools joke we'd have our agent help us write up fake contracts on their houses and then realized that would just be mean rather than funny.

7. I love Easter candy but need to throw it out rather than eat it. But the kids like it, and I feel guilty getting rid of it but need to because I shouldn't be eating it. Wish I had more control over my personal eating.

8. Did I mention that last night was the first night I slept from 10:30-6:30 in I don't know like a YEAR or more!! It felt so good. I have to say I know B came into bed with us but I barely budged. It felt so good to sleep and I seem to be a much "better" mom today.

9. We are off to the Library but first I have to make beds and make the house "show ready." For what??? most likely a no show but if I don't then of course someone will show up, Murphy's law.

10. I keep trying to edit my font size and it keeps making it large!!!!!!!!!
