I compliment you, you give me a price?

(i'm one handed today, don't ask. )

Have you ever noticed when you give someone a compliment like "Oh I love your sweater." They will come back and say "I got it for only $10.00 and it was normally $50. Isn't it a steal." Or they inform you that it was so cheap only such and such price. Is it because they are excited they found a great bargain? I catch myself every once in a while saying similar things.

Do people ever say "I know its awesome and I spent $1000, you should like it!"

I think for the most part most of us don't take compliments very well--I don't know why. Instead of just saying "thank you" we almost make excuses. I wonder why we do that????

I used to say that, then I noticed that a friend said it ALL the time. I found it quite annoying so I made a conscious effort to just say "Thank you" when i get a compliment

I agree with Yvonne. Sometimes I am just too proud of my good steal. I can't contain myself. One day I was talking to a Brother So and So at church, he said he loved his daughter-in-law because she always just says thank you when ever anyone gave her a compliment. After that I try to do the same.

Mi little Danielle asked, once that I calm down, if I am being nice now...It does make me feel so bad about rasising my voice at her but sometimes...I know not excuse

ahhh corrine! your ending made me just giggle! i didn't even see it coming. i am still grinning. thank you ... because i really needed extra smiles today, kathleen

ps. i only say compiments when i mean it! otherwise, what is the point? and i love being told the sweet stuff. sure, sometimes i am embarrassed a tad, but i eat up the love. and i say thank you and i don't make excuses. if you love something/someone, tell them ... you might be the first positive thing they have been told in forever! you cracked me up tonight. thank you.
